United Way’s Tocqueville Society is named after 19th century French philosopher and historian Alexis de Tocqueville, who recognized the American public’s giving spirit and celebrated our collective instinct of taking substantive voluntary action to serve the common good in his famous work, Democracy in America (1835).
Endorsed by United Way Worldwide, our Tocqueville Society honors local donors who invest substantially in the United Way mission through annual gifts of $10,000 or more. As our most philanthropic leaders, they leverage their individual and collective gifts to create positive impact and help us shape a thriving central Oklahoma community.
We are deeply grateful to our Tocqueville donors for their generosity and substantive annual support.
